Qualifications and experience
I'm a COSCA qualified supervisor and a BACP accredited therapist. I've completed advanced training in both individual and group supervision.
Since 2004 I've worked with both adults and young people (aged 11 and over) with wide-ranging issues and in a variety of settings (private and voluntary organisations, higher education, secondary schools and youth services). Currently, in addition to my private practice, I'm the clinical lead for a private consultancy offering case management support to therapists and clinical supervisors across Scotland. I have worked for a variety of EAPs, charitable organisations and health insurers.
My Approach
I've trained in several therapeutic orientations, the main ones being Psychodynamic, EMDR, CBT and Mindfulness and Person-Centred . I also work creatively using art based therapy techniques to help with exploration of issues that may be below the surface of awareness. I believe in working flexibly and collaboratively, tailoring supervision to the needs of the supervisee, and supporting each practitioner with respect to their chosen therapeutic modality while taking into consideration their organisational context.
